Frequently Asked Questions

What makes MotlMD different?

We don’t guess- we test. MotlMD is changing the standard for diagnostic care and treatment. Many people struggling with mental health symptoms don’t get the care they need. An overwhelming number of people are diagnosed by physicians who prescribe treatments after only a brief interview.

How are we different?

Our center is designed to get an in-depth understanding of what is causing your symptoms. And once we know why you are experiencing your symptoms, we work with you to create personalized treatment plans.

What can I expect in my complimentary consultation?

All prospective clients will meet with our Clinical Director for 45 minutes to answer any questions you have and ensure our clinic is the right fit for you. During this time, we can determine which individualized assessments may be appropriate for your specific health concerns.

What are the next steps to become a new patient?

We will provide you a detailed cost estimate and timeline for availability for scheduling your assessment day.

How long will the assessment package take?

Our preference is to complete assessment packages in 1 day. The day usually begins at 9am and ends around 3:30pm, with a 1 hour lunch break.

Are there accommodations for testing if I cannot do the assessment package in 1 day?

If needed, assessments can be scheduled multiple days. Some diagnostic laboratory samples can be collected within the comfort of your home.

Does any of the testing cause discomfort or side effects?

No, all of our in-house assessments are comfortable, safe and noninvasive. Some people may find blood work or certain types of neuroimaging concerning.

How can I schedule?

If we decide MotlMD is right for you, we require a 50% deposit before scheduling.

By email, you will receive an access link to create an account in our online portal. You will be asked to fill out online forms ASAP, completely, and truthfully.

We ask that all forms be completed at least 5 days prior to appointment.

What past medical records do I need to share with MotlMD prior to my appointment?

Any and all previous medical records sent to MotlMD personnel~

  • Any MRI/CT scans
  • Blood work (within 60 days)
  • List of all medications and supplements (you can take a picture and send)

What if my goal is to stop taking psychiatric medication(s)?

This decision can be guided by our experienced Neuropsychiatrist using choices of supplemental therapies, techniques and training to do it safely. Genetic medication testing will likely be required to accomplish this.

Will I be required to stop taking my medication?

Not at all.

How much do your services cost?

It varies. See our services price list here.

For Assessment packages: one diagnostic package does not fit all clients, which is why each one is personalized based on your individual health needs and goals.

Do you offer financing?

MotlMD accepts CareCredit, a credit card used to pay for out-of-pocket expenses not covered by medical insurance. Special financing options are available that you may not be able to get with other cards.
Find more information at CareCredit’s Website here: https://www.carecredit.com/howcarecreditworks/prospective/

Do you take insurance?

Our goal is to provide personalized care without the barriers imposed by insurance companies. For this reason, we are not in-network with any insurance companies. For more information about this, view our Insurance Questions and Reimbursement page.

Upon request, we can provide you with a superbill you may submit for reimbursement. We encourage you to check with your insurance company’s customer service number on the back of your insurance card prior to scheduling to see if you are eligible for reimbursement.

What if I get hungry?

MotlMD offers gluten-free and vegan snacks. For all-day assessments, we offer a gift card for your choice of lunch at some of the finest restaurants on Town Center Blvd. You’re welcome to bring your choice of snacks.

Should I take regularly prescribed medications before an assessment?

Yes.

Can I use illicit / recreational drugs before an assessment?

No, we strongly advise to NOT use recreational drug use at least 7 days before.
Let MotlMD know if any substances have been administered and/or are usually used.

How do I receive results?

A member of our team will call you when your results are ready to schedule a meeting to review your results.

You also have a digital copy that you can view in your patient portal Patient Portal Login (patientonlineportal.com)

How does an assessment package results meeting differ from an individual testing result meeting?

If you completed an assessment package, we will schedule a Client Conference meeting which includes all providers present. All providers integrate data from all tests for a more comprehensive healing plan.

Individual tests/assessments meetings will include only 1 provider who will share your results, interpretation of findings and any recommendations they have for your care.

When are the results ready?

Assessment packages usually take about 3 – 4+ weeks for all data to return and all providers to integrate recommendations.

For individual testing/assessments:

  • Biopsychosocial assessment: same day
  • Neuropsychiatry assessment: same day
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment: 1+ week
  • qEEG assessment: 3 – 4+ weeks
  • Genetic medication test: 2 – 3+ weeks
  • Organic Acids Test (OAT): 3 – 4+ weeks

Can I stay with MotlMD for ongoing care after my initial assessment and diagnosis?

After the initial diagnostics and treatment planning, local clients may receive treatment at our Center.

Can you recommend a treatment provider in my area?

We are happy to help clients who have been seen at our clinic locate treatment providers.

Please note that some suggested treatments might not be available in smaller cities or remote areas. If this occurs you may need to travel to a nearby city or consider an alternative treatment. We will work with you to ensure you understand all options and how to access treatment.

Clients can always reach out in the event they have questions or need additional help- we are here for you!
